![]() Posted By Gorvikos at 07:04 AM - Tue Dec 24 2019 I think Pantheon has less than $5 million? in funding right now.they are getting ready to start their playable alpha phase. If anything, it looks like CoE is actually a bit ahead of the game in that regard. ![]() Using your logic, if CoE funding is "barely creeping", then virtually every other MMO in crowdfunded development is doomed as well, right?Īs a comparison, Camelot Unchained evidently has a total funding of around $17 million (including investors), and has been in development for about 7 years.ĬoE has almost $8 million (just from what is on the store page), and has been in development for 3.5 years since the Kickstarter began. Granted, that does not take whatever behind the scenes funding other games might have, or any additional funding CoE might have that isn't listed on the store page. Well, taking SC out of the picture, because everyone knows that is an anomaly, CoE is one of the highest funded crowdfunded MMO's in development, at the moment, even without an investor/publisher. This is game development, that money is operation costs for a few months Yea if they have an event that large and aren’t even past 8 million that is barely creeping, especially since I’m fairly sure they were around 7 million at the start of the year. Posted By Marovec at 09:57 AM - Tue Dec 24 2019īarely creeping.except for the close to the million dollars they just raised with the recent KSV? Posted By Tulloch at 10:40 AM - Tue Dec 24 2019 If I can get "CoE" somewhere else, sooner.I'll write off the money I spent here as a loss, and move on. I'm not here for "SBS", I am here for CoE. If another company can produce what SBS is trying to produce, cheaper and faster, with comparable quality (which is, at this point, unknown, since we don't know what the quality of CoE actually is). The only reason that makes logically sense to not release a low pixel playable version for testing is they are so far from market that they are afraid of another company beating them to market with knock off versions of what they are trying to implement. Obviously a polished product is better for real game immersion but the graphics aren't what makes this game stand out. The community is so strong in this game that i'm willing to bet the majority of people would be happy playing in their low pixel state just to test all the systems. There is a lot about their idea of when things are ready and when they aren't that just don't make sense to me. Posted By Gorvikos at 10:04 AM - Tue Dec 24 2019
